Alfred David Weaver, affectionately known to many as “Ole Man Weaver & 84 Dave,” passed away surrounded by the love of his family on June 9,2026.
Born on April 24, 1947, Alfred lived a life marked by hard work, dedication to his family, and a genuine love for his community. He proudly served in the Army National Guard, demonstrating the same sense of duty and commitment that would characterize the rest of his life.
Alfred spent many years working as a printer for J.S. Barnett in Waco, Texas, where he built lasting friendships and earned the respect of those who worked alongside him. Beyond his career, he devoted countless hours to coaching Mart Youth Baseball, helping shape the lives of young athletes and leaving a lasting impact on the community he loved.
Alfred found joy in the simple things in life. He loved gathering with family and friends to play 42 and treasured the time spent listening to his brothers and nephews play guitar. His warm spirit, sense of humor, and love for those around him will be remembered by all who knew him.
Alfred was preceded in death by his Grand daughter Sammi Jo Weaver, parents, Maynard Alfred Weaver and Clydie Lou Weaver; brothers, T.H. Weaver, Robert Wayne Weaver, Douglas Weaver, Preston Weaver and Houston Weaver; and his sisters, Lee Guidry, Nelda Faye Smith, and Laverne Jentoft-Raftery.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Ofelia Weaver; daughter, Raquel Blood; sons, Brandon and Jenice Weaver, David and Melinda Weaver, Houston and Miranda Weaver, and Jamie and Robin Riley and beloved fur baby, Lil’ Bit. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Chad Blood; Melina and husband Ethan Deike; Donovan Greene; Dominick Greene; Dometrius Greene; Mari Blood; Lana and Garrett Parsons; Addisen Paige and fiancé Tyler Anderson; Jessi Weaver; Brody Weaver; Bryce Weaver; Jade Durbin; and Saydi Durbin. Alfred was also blessed with great-grandchildren Damian, Corbin, Christian, Kinley, Levi and Kadrin, all of whom brought him great joy.
Alfred’s legacy lives on through the family he loved so dearly, the friends whose lives he touched, and the community he faithfully served. He will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to family, his love of baseball, his enjoyment of a good game of 42, and the laughter and stories he shared with those around him. Though his presence will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the love he gave will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. “Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near’”
