Christina Blackburn

Christina Suzette Hawkins Blackburn, 53 years old, went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Saturday, April 12, 2025. A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Mart. Visitation for family and friends will be from 1:30-2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, prior to the funeral at the First Baptist Church of Mart.  Burial will be the following day, Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 10 A.M. at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco.

Christi was born on May 9, 1971 in Waco to Chris and Terry Hawkins. She married Ronald Blackburn January 16, 2001 and they just celebrated their 24 year anniversary this past year. Christi was a loving wife, second mom, sissy, daughter, sister and aunt. Christi was always a feisty, fun-loving girl. When she was barely old enough to walk she rode horses and enjoyed being outside. She wore out several big wheels on Pearl Ave, going back and forth between her house to her grandparents. Christi was a Mart Panther and she bled purple and gold. She never missed a football game and was always decked out in her Mart gear ready to cheer on the Panthers.

Christi worked at Southwestern Bell in her thirties and thrived selling phone service to her customers. She won President’s Club 2 years in a row and her and Ronnie were able to attend celebration events in San Diego and Las Vegas. After her time at Southwestern Bell, Christi worked with her dad Chris and boy was she a force to be reckoned with, she would keep the crew in line and keep job schedules on track. Most recently Christi worked at Smarty Pants and she loved the people she worked with there, they became a very close group of co-workers. If you knew Christi you know that she would make a friend with just about anyone, she was very giving and when she loved you, she loved you no matter what. Christi was very active in the First Baptist Church of Mart. She was in charge of the food for the children on Wednesday nights and she took great joy in that. She always wanted to make sure they had something fun and good to eat and was known for sometimes playing favorites to a kid or two that might be a bit of a picky eater. Christi and Ronnie lived in Robinson with their Yorkie, Bailey. She really loved Bailey and loved being a dog mom. Christi and Ronnie loved hosting family dinners and get togethers, you would find Ronnie at the barbeque pit and Christi in the kitchen preparing the sides, she loved a party.

Christi never had children of her own, but she was lucky enough to be a second mom to Brittany and Miranda when they were just teenagers. She loved those girls and treated them like her own. She was so proud to have them as daughters. She was big sister or Sissy to Jackie and Samantha and they had lots of adventures and fun over the years. She was Aunt/Sissy to McKenzie, she loved that little girl as if she were her own. She picked her up from school and took her lunch anytime she asked. They would have their special time and go shopping and eating and she would rarely say ‘No’ to anything. She loved watching Brenleigh play softball and Madi play volleyball. She loved picking up her nephews and niece, Cayden, Landen & Presley and taking them for ice cream. But that was Christi she was a big kid at heart and she loved kids. Christi loved her family and they loved her. For those that knew her well, she was a chauffeur to her mom and personal assistant to her dad. She was a ball of energy and always willing to help anyone and everyone. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
