Joe George Tepe

Joe George Tepe, 86, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025 in Waco, Texas.

He was born on October 22, 1938 in Rosebud, Texas to Herman Joe Tepe and Edna Marie Vogel Tepe. Joe attended High school in Riesel, Texas where he graduated in 1955. His family were farmers. Joe farmed with his dad for many years in the Riesel area. 

Joe enjoyed life. One of his favorite pastimes was listening to country and western music at Elk Hall.  There he could visit with friends and listen to a variety of bands playing live music. 

Joe had an interest in ham radios. He enjoyed the challenge of communicating back and forth on the radio. 

At Mr. Carpenter's small country store, Joe enjoyed playing dominos. 

Each week Joe was a regular at the Livestock Auction to watch the sale of cattle. More times than not he would see family members and friends at the auctions.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Edna Tepe, sister, Linda Goates, and brother-in law, Eddie Lee Thompson.

Joe is survived by his sister, Edna Ann Thompson; brother-in-law, Danny Goates; niece, Kerri Coleman; nephews, Jeffery Thompson & wife Keri, Kevin Goates & wife Michelle, and Barry Goates & wife Ernie.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
