Judy Jeanette (McDonald)
Sealy
September 17, 1945 – April 16, 2026
Judy Jeanette (McDonald) Sealy passed away on April 16, 2026 peacefully at home and surrounded by family. A service celebrating and honoring her life as well as giving thanks to Jesus will be held near her home in Thrall, Tx.
On September 17, 1945 in Houston, TX Judy was born to William and Matholene McDonald. Approximately a year later her brother, William (Buddy) McDonald Jr. was born. Judy spent her first 9 years in Houston and then her family moved to Deep Park, Tx where Judy stayed until she was a young adult. She had an enjoyable childhood and enjoyed family and friends.
In April of 1963 when she was 17 years old Judy put her faith in Jesus. As an adult, Judy journaled about that experience. “I remember a feeling of peace. My life was all new; I had a focus and an assurance that comes when you know your life is in God’s hands. I came to know beyond a shadow of a doubt through the years that God loves me.”
Judy attended San Jacinto Junior College in Pasadena, TX and studied journalism there. After two years she chose to join the workforce and was hired for secretarial work at places such as Prudential Insurance and NASA.
In 1971 on a blind date Judy met the love of her life, Walter Stone Sealy. They were married on June 10, 1972. Judy and Walt enjoyed 51 years of marriage before Walt passed away on February 24, 2024. They have two children, Gregory Stone and Carrie Suzanne. Judy’s desire always was to be a wife and mother, married to a man who loved the Lord and wanted to serve Him. That desire was fulfilled in her family.
Some of the activities Judy enjoyed as an adult were reading, crossword puzzles, crafting, nature walks, fishing, being a grandma, and visiting with family and friends.
Judy is survived by her children, Greg and Carrie, her daughter-in-law and son-in-law, Susanne Sealy and David Hassell, and her three grandchildren, Grace, Stone and Levi Sealy.
Judy will be fondly remembered by those who knew her as a gentle, kind, patient, thoughtful, and generous person whose heart was full of laughter. She will forever be greatly loved.
