He also gave his time as a volunteer for the Mart Fire Department and EMS, served on the Board of the Mart Housing Authority, and participated in numerous committees at First Baptist Church of Mart. His legacy is one of quiet leadership, generosity, and unwavering dedication to the place he called home.

He is survived by his brother Eldin (Bub) Lehrmann of Wilmington, NC, his loving daughters: Karan Rowe and husband Pete of Mart, Gina Promes of Hillsboro, and Denise Allen and husband Scott of Waco. He was a proud grandfather to Krystal Caldwell, Nathan Freeman, Kaleb Freeman, Kelli Promes, Seth Toten and wife Cassidy, Zeke Freeman, Kenzie Lee and husband Landry, and Tracer Toten and wife Sydney.
