Virginia Warner

Virginia Louise Cobb - Warner passed from this earth, and into heaven, on October 5 th 2026. She was born to George Cobb and Mary Key, on October 21, 1943, in Wheeler, Texas. Hers was an age-divided family -- when she was born in 1943, the middle of World War II, she had three much older half-brothers who were actually fighting in World War II.

Virginia dropped out of high school at age 16 but later earned her GED diploma and went on to earn Associate Degrees in Business Administration and Law Enforcement. In her teen years, she worked as a waitress at a truck stop; and, eight years later, she owned the truck stop. Although she worked several jobs over the years, she found her place working at, and eventually retiring from, M&M Mars in Waco.

She opened Virginia’s Vintage Flea Market in Mart, TX, in 1999, and successfully weathered several financial storms while often providing no-cost assistance to those in need. During the hard freeze in 2021 -- as things began thawing, and broken water pipes were found, she gave pvc piping, fittings, and glue to anyone in need.

Affectionally called “Mom” or “Mother” by her three daughters; she was known as Nannie to, and loved by, her nine grandchildren, and her ten great-grandchildren. Her husband called her “Lady” because she truly was. She was a very special and unique person, with a “presence” that far exceeded her height of five feet. She is , and will continue to be, very much missed by all who knew her. Virginia had accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, and was a member of Williams Creek Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, she desired that contributions be made to her church.
